PPB UIN Jakarta - MA At-Taqwa Islamic Boarding School visited UIN Jakarta Language Development Center (PPB), Jalan Kertamukti No. 5, Pisangan, East Ciputat, Cireundeu, Kec. East Ciputat, South Tangerang City Friday, October 25, 2024. The visit was carried out in order to carry out Study Campus and English Language Training.

The opening activity began with remarks. The first speech was delivered by Ahmad Khaitami as the teacher of MA At-Taqwa.

“As a representative of the teachers of MA At-Taqwa, I would like to thank the UIN Jakarta Language Development Center for accepting us for this visit,” he said.

The second speech was delivered by Kustiwan, S.Ag., M.A., Ph.d, the Head of UIN Jakarta Language Development Center. On this occasion he was very happy with this visit and did not forget to convey a motivation for MA At-Taqwa male students.

“The English material that you learn today will be useful for you in the future. Believe me, that by mastering a foreign language, the world will be in your grasp. Therefore, learn and follow this activity well,” Kustiwan advised the male students of MA At-Taqwa.

After that, it was continued with the handover of souvenirs and a group photo in the front yard of PPB UIN Jakarta. 

The MA At-Taqwa male students were directed to the language course room to start the prepared materials. The first material was about “Confidence Speaking English”, Dhorifah as the speaker motivated the students to be enthusiastic in learning English by describing the benefits of people who are able to master English.

The second material was “Train Yourself to Speak English with Confidence” delivered by Emilia Elsani and Aqillah Zahra, students of English education program. In this material, the students were given tips and tricks to speak English in general fluently.

Before entering the third material, the activity was paused with Ishoma. Exactly at 13.30 the activity continued with the delivery of the third material, namely “Vacubolary Building” delivered by Moh. Syarif Saifa, a student of the English Education study program.

As a speaker, he invited the students to increase their English vocabulary. The activeness of the students in the question and answer session showed their enthusiasm in receiving the material from beginning to end. 

As a form of refreshing after the material briefing, the students were invited to play games organized by KKN Batch 3 students in the Language Course (KURBAS) yard. The excitement was clearly visible on the faces of the students when participating in the games.

After determining the winners of the games, the activity was closed with a prayer led by Muhammad Anas, Lc., M.A. and the students got ready to return to the At-Taqwa boarding school. 

Impressions and messages were also conveyed by the students during their visit to the UIN Jakarta Language Development Center. One of the santri representatives admitted that he was very happy because he learned many new things while at the UIN Jakarta Language Development Center.

“We are happy to learn a lot about English and get new knowledge. This visit really motivates us to be more enthusiastic about learning English. We are grateful for this opportunity and feel satisfied with the experience gained”.

With this activity, it is hoped that the students can strengthen their English skills and open their horizons for a better future. (Alfina Ika Arianti)
