Jakarta - Pusat Pengembangan Bahasa UIN Syarif Hidayatullah Jakarta (Language Development Center) of UIN Syarif Hidayatullah Jakarta once again opens opportunities for students to develop their language proficiency through its flagship program, KURBAS Regular (Language Course) 2026.

This program is specifically designed for active undergraduate students (S1) in semesters 2, 4, and 6 who aim to systematically and continuously improve their English and Arabic language skills.

KURBAS Regular is intended not only to help students understand language theoretically, but also to enhance their practical skills in communication, presentations, and language use in academic contexts. In addition, the program specifically supports students in preparing for language proficiency tests, namely ETIC (English Test for Islamic Community) and TOAFL (Test of Arabic as a Foreign Language), in accordance with the score requirements set by each faculty.

With an interactive and relevant learning approach, participants will gain practical learning experiences that support their academic needs. Notably, the entire program is offered free of charge.

The program will be conducted online from April to July 2026, consisting of 10 sessions. Participants who attend at least 75% of the sessions will receive a certificate equivalent to 30 instructional hours, which can also support their Diploma Supplement or Surat Keterangan Pendamping Ijazah (SKPI).

The Head of the Language Development Center, Kustiwan Syarif, M.A., Ph.D., emphasized that language proficiency is a key factor in enhancing students’ quality and competitiveness.

“We aim to ensure that all members of the academic community, especially students, possess language competencies that meet international standards. This program is not merely a routine training, but an effort to provide real experiences where collaboration and achievement can thrive beyond language barriers,” he stated in PPB Building, Ciputat, South Tangerang, Tuesday (31/3/2026).

He further highlighted the specific objectives of the KURBAS Regular program:

“The objective of KURBAS Regular is to help students learn and improve their English and Arabic language skills, while also preparing them to successfully pass the English Test for Islamic Community (ETIC) and Test of Arabic as a Foreign Language (TOAFL) tests in accordance with the score standards set by their respective faculties.”

He added that this program is part of UIN Syarif Hidayatullah Jakarta’s broader effort to realize its vision as the World Class Research University that upholds the values of religious moderation and social harmony.

The program schedule is as follows:

• Registration: March 31 – April 8, 2026

• Online Classes: April – July 2026 (10 sessions)

Registration is open until April 8, 2026 through the official link provided by PPB. Registered participants are required to join the designated communication channel to receive further technical information about the program.
